As the important visual element in the film art,the color is known as "the silent soul".As an essential part of the visual language,the color has played an important role in the film creation.The visual effect created by the color can not only reductive the objective reality of the things,participate in storytelling,but also can make the scenes more beautiful.The emotional meanings of colors in the films convey is irreplaceable.This paper makes the color in the films as the research object,takes the colors' ideographic function in contemporary films as a starting point,expresses that the color in the film plays an important role by analyzing the ideographic function of the color in the films.Then this paper tries to solve the problems in the structure of ideographic expression of the color in the films in support of the related theory.This article is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the different meanings,functions,and emotional symbols between the objective color and subjective color in the films from the perspective of the relationship between objective color and subjective color in the films,this part also analyzes the artistic features of this two kinds of representation of the color in the films,and then put forward this paper' s view-the color in the films play the important role in the ideographic function of the films.The second part puts forward a point of view that there are some problems in the process of using the color in the films by the induction of knowledge points in the first part,and the problem is:What degree should the subjective color which implants the film achieve,the color in the film could both satisfy the audiences' emotions and do not produce any ambiguity?This part tries to solve the problems above and give some systematic and standardized methods for the structure of using the color in the films.The third part analyzes some contemporary film cases which have a signature in the color expression,and analyzes the point of view of this paper from different angles,appreciates and analyzes detailed the edges of these film in order to improve the ability of using color in the films.The final part summarizes the strengths and the weaknesses in the structure of the color expression in the films by the comparison of the color expression in the films between China and the western countries.Hoping this paper can be enlightenment to the use of color expression in later films.
