The development of Animated Film has undergone a century of history, and now it becomes not only the significant forms and narration that the propagating media has adopted, but also the mainstay and the important impetus of visual cultural's eco-generating and developing.The Study on noumenonn of the art of animated film is increasing critical and necessary,and the color is exactly the important component of artistic noumenonn of Animated Film, and also is the most important visual element and one of the existing ways in the Animated Film.The significance of the color in Animated Films is no merely to the background figures, rendering the environment and background atmosphere in the concept of traditional animation, but lying in the visual aesthetics of color in the film tableau,also lying in the ideographic function of the visual language that is unique in the animation concept and narration.Going through its own image language, being an organic whole with narrative structure and content in Films, can demonstrate the artistic result that can't display besides color, and express a content of visual information that can't convey the story by itself. The important color's function in the Animation can't be ignored, but studying color's characteristics and roles in the film systematically, still belong to vacancy at home. It Seems more critical with the need for researching on the subject of animated movies, and the research of this subject that the study on color in the cartoon film is the important part that animator can't be ignored, that can play certain directive significance and enlighten function to the further innovative development of the animated film.This thesis uses literature search, case law research, comprehensive analytic approach,comparative method study,and is guided by the knowledge of cinema science,color science, aesthetics, semantics, and pragmatics etc. Then it combines a large number of substantial examples of animation movies, and carries on systematized research and exposition to the aesthetic characteristics of colors and apparent function of Animated Movies.This thesis regards color as the visual language of Animated film and carries on deep research from the category of aesthetics,and analyses to explore how to understand the aesthetic value of color, the role and significance in the creation of animated movies.First of all, the thesis has carried on research to the unique intension of the film color, and has proposed that color is a kind of visual language in the animated film language system, and has the natural attribute and the culture attribute.I have carried on the research to the unique intension of the film color of cartoon in the thesis at first, and put forward that the film color is the color of flowing, a semitransparent picture that is composed of light of colors, and uniqueness that has space-time to interlock. Its attribute includes natural attribute and culture attribute.Secondly, I sum up and summarize the special aesthetic characteristic of color in the animation. Its aesthetic characteristic is summarized:It is one kind of (1)Assumption artistic color; (2)Movable color; (3)Strengthen the color of the model; (4) Various color of style; (5)Color that the mere appears and interweaves.Once again, it has put forward that for the film's color,what is more important is lying in the ideographic function of the unique visual language in the animation concept and narration.The ideographic function of the color is included:(1) symbol and metaphor of the color in Animated movies; (2) narrative function of the color in Animated movies; (3) space performance of the color in Animated movies; (4) time performance of the color in Animated movies; (5) emotion of the color in Animated movies.Finally, this text, has carried on the color's unique connotation research of " Chinese school " which is in the sixties of animation industry. Aim at inheriting and carrying forward the traditional Chinese aesthetic concept in the color's application of Animated Films,we should research and explore it for China's Animation and for the development and improvement of the film color.
