A Study On E-C Translation Of Science And Technology Texts

This thesis is based on a study on the English to Chinese translation of the training courses of electronic material containers.The application of the skopos theory is well analyzed in this thesis.The skopos theory is the representative theory of German Functionalist School,and this theory has great significance on the development of translation and practice.Under the guidance of the skopos theory,the translators can do very well in the translation of science and technology text so as to improve the translation quality.The world economy is constantly developing and global communications are getting closer.Translation of science and technology texts plays an important role in the exchange of science and technology among all countries in the world today.In the direction of the skopos theory and based on the case study of training courses of electronic material containers,this thesis aims to summarize the characteristics of science and technology texts about vocabularies,sentence patterns,chapters so as to optimize the quality of translation and to promote the translation of science and technology texts.The syntactic structure of training courses is classified and illustrated,while concise and effective translation methods are summarized.What's more,the practical problems encountered during the translation practice are put forward in order to provide reference for the translation of the same type of texts in the future.The research findings show that the contents of the training courses are consistent and repeatable.Therefore,several methods and measures are summarized in order to improve the translation efficiency and accuracy,which give other translators' some thoughts and insights.
