| China is rich in poetries which are closely connected with music.The first poetry collection,The Book of Songs,where music is attached to poetry,can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period.During the Warning States Period,there was a The Songs of Chu based on northern folk songs and Chu dialect.Tang Dynasty is the golden age of poetry whose tunes were combined with music.In Song Dynasty,poetry developed to its peak.During this period,music and poetry melted into one,and the composer would create melody in accordance with pronunciation and intonation of Chinese characters.These poetries might be sung in ancient times,but unfortunately,as time goes by,most music score failed to be passed down from past generations.There is a phenomenon that Chinese composers are willing to re-compose the poetry while seeking the artistic songs with Chinese characteristic.When we recreate this kind of songs,firstly we have to understand the genre of the ancient Chinese poetry art songs.Then,we need not only to grasp the content of the lyrics and the background of this creation,but also to combine it with the modern songs,accompaniment forms.At the same time,the treatment of sound should be noticed.The most important thing,however,is to express the inner feeling that the author of poetry delivers through lyrics,and combine this feeling with our emotion.This paper mainly explores and analyses the ancient Chinese poetry art songs Slow,Slow Tune composed by Xu Pei dong.From the points of literary background,the musical analysis,the lyric comprehension and the emotional expression,and also further exploring from the aspects of literature background,understanding of music score,articulation and vocalism in singing,analysis of lyrics and emotion assurance,we can understand the song,and its feature thoroughly.Besides,the content and charm of the ancient Chinese poetry art song can be better demonstrated through the musical performance and instrumental accompaniment. |
