Research On Image Based Digital Protection Of Xiangxi Traditional Village

Located in the west of Hunan,being he inhabitation of Tujia Nationality,Miao Nationality,Xiangxi gave both to many traditional villages due to its unique regional feature and strong filk customs.As the evidence of Xiangxi history and the carrier of culture,Xiangxi traditional village is an important component of Xiangxi traditional cultural heritage.With rapid advancement of urbanization,these traditional village as cultural carrier of Xiangxi traditional culture is declining.Due to arrival of digital age,there has been a systemic traditional village digital protection theory and technological system currently.As an important medium carrier of digital protection of Xiangxi traditional village,image has an important role in carrying history and dissemination of culture.It is an important and urgent issue how to conduct a good digital protection of Xiangxi traditional village based on image medium.Through such methods as literature collection,field survey,case analysis,theoretically based on cultural ecology,image communication science,archival science,architectural anthropology,etc.,image based digital protection of Xiangxi traditional village was explored and researched in this paper.Currently digital protection of Xiangxi traditional village is mainly led by the authorities,with the features of combination of targeted protection and overall protection in terms of scope of protection,transformation from single static image collection to diverse collection including static image,panoramic image and digital picture based 3D solid modeling in terms of form of protection,top-down hierarchic management in terms of form of storage.While having advantages in administrative driving force and fund guarantee,this mode also has some problems such as incomplete protection,difficulty in supervision of protection quality,as well as disharmony between storage mode and communication channel,even the potential risk of further worsening polarization of villages protected.Aim at these problems,we proposed countermeasures such as introduction of multiple modes of protection,strengthening training of composite professionals,introducing marketized image database and specialized archives bureau,museum to store images,improving cultural awareness of villagers to protect the villages autonomously,making scientific and systemic image collection and assessment standards,etc.In the research it was believed that the fundamental problems in current digital protection of Xiangxi traditional village is lack of scientific and systemic classification and standards for contents of image collection,as well as standard general image collection procedure and special image collection method.The author constructed the contents of digital protection of Xiangxi traditional village in the perspective of cultural ecology,and finished image collection procedure and method,in attempt to becoming the theoretic basis and reference source for future image based digital protection of Xiangxi traditional village.
