In 1999,the concept of Great ruins was first proposed in the official document of the State Administration of cultural relics.It refers to a large ancient cultural site.Different from the general site,they are large in size,valuable in value and deep in influence.And they reflect the historical and cultural information of various aspects of ancient China and the outstanding creativity of the ancient Chinese people.It embodies the origin and development of Chinese civilization.There are six major sites in Hunan Province,which are listed in the special planning of the national great site protection.They are Lao Si City ruin?The ancient city ruin of Li Ye?The tombs of the king of Changsha ruin in the Western Han Dynasty?Tong Guan Kiln ruin?Cheng Tou mountain ruin?Tan He Li ruin.The six major sites show the development of civilizations in different periods and different levels of Hunan Province.It is a direct witness of the long history of Hu Xiang culture and an indispensable part of Chinese civilization.After five months,I have visited six major sites in Hunan province.I investigated the protection status of the site,photographed the preservation status of the present sites,and analyzed the destruction factors.At the same time,I have thought about the advantages and disadvantages of each major site in protection.The focus of this paper is to investigate the protection status of six large sites in Hunan province.It includes the protection status,management status and utilization status.According to the results of the investigation,I have analyzed the protection problems of large sites in Hunan province and formed reports,which will put forward the protection countermeasures for other sites in Hunan Province.
