The order of the Hongshan cultural remains in the V site of the NiuheLiang Ruins can be summarized as the bottom remains,the middle remains and the upper remains,which represent the bottom remains stage,the bottom gravel stage,and the upper gravel stage.During the period of the the bottom remains stage,the site took the sacrificial pits as the main forms of religious ritual activities,and the remains of the activities showed the ideas of sacrificing heaven and earth.From the beginning of this period,the V site had becomed a sacred place,which was independent of the residential area.To the stage of bottom stone tomb,the stone tomb and sacrificial pits coexisted,these sacrificial pits developed by the sacrificial pits of the bottom remains stage obviously.Occupants of the tumulus were special character,who made important contributions for the survival and development of the clan when they were alive,and thus the construction of stone tomb was for the ancestral deity worship.And because the ancestral deity in the mountains,the ancestral deity derived from the mountain deity and god deity,so this period of the V site had be a place of worship for ancestral deity and mountain deity.To the upper gravel stage,there had been a combination of round and square,and a new ritual content had emerged.There was a large center tomb with rich jade In the stone tomb,the identity of the occupant of the tomb is both within the leader and religious leaders of the upper social figures.The new activities of worshipping ancestral deity appeared in the stone tomb.Because the worshipping of god deity developed into the main consciousness of the society,so the altar separated from the stone tomb and built in the middle of the round and square barrow,and consecrated people under the altar for worshipping the god deity,it became the specialized place for sacrificing heaven and earth.The various stages of the ritual activities were able to show that ? site of the Niuhe Liang Ruins is an important place to worship heaven and earth.
