In the 1840's,After the outbreak of the Opium War,China's portal was opened by the Western powers,and China gradually changed into a semi-colonial and semi-feudal country.In China,a group of patriotic and enlightened intellectuals,who were trying to resist foreign aggression and seek ways of constructing the country and saving the nation seeking ways of constructing the country and saving the nation,constantly learned from the Western culture,wrote many books on world knowledge,one of which is Wei Yuan' s "Records and Maps of the World".The book spread to Joseon and had a great impact on Joseon society,which also faced severe challenges from the West.The spread of "Records and Maps of the World" in China and Joseon opened the historical curtain of modern China and Joseon to learn from the West,and opened the road to social change.Through a comparative study of the spread of "Records and Maps of the World" in China and Joseon,this paper tries to contrast the spread and social impact in China and Joseon,analyze the reasons for the differences in social impact,and understand the historical revelation of "Records and Maps of the World" spreading in China and Joseon.This paper comprehensively compares the spread of "Records and Maps of the World" in China and Joseon,and its social impact,and analyzes the differences of different social influences.The paper is composed of the introduction,the text and the conclusion.The text is divided into three chapters.The first chapter mainly expounds Wei Yuan's life and the writing background,the main content,the status and the significance of the "Records and Maps of the World" of Wei Yuan.The second chapter mainly describes the comparison of the spread of "Records and Maps of the World" in China and Joseon.The third chapter mainly describes the contrast of the social impact of "Records and Maps of the World" in China and Joseon.This chapter mainly combs the emergence of the thought of "seeing the world" in the two countries,the process of seeking change and learning from the West,the contents of carrying out all kinds of reforms,and compares the similarities and differences of the book's social effects on the two countries and the reasons.Through the comparative study of "Records and Maps of the World"spreading in China and Joseon,we are further aware of the positive role this book has played on the development of the two countries,and have revealed similarities and differences in the positive responses which the two feudal states in the long period of seclusion made in the face of "common power from the west to the east gradually" trend.And from a more macro perspective,we think about the internal changes in the modern history of China and Joseon and the promotion of the history of the relations between the two countries.
