In order to stimulate students 'interest in learning and guide students to gradually convert their interest into a stable learning motivation.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the motivation of junior high school students to learn English.The literature research shows that the study of motivation of English learning in junior middle school students of Korean nationality is minimal.The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the motivation of Korean junior high school students in English learning,and to study the following three questions:(1)What are the motivation and intensity of motivation for Korean junior high school students?(2)Are there any differences in the motivation and intensity of English learning among Korean junior middle school students of different grades?(3)What is the relationship between motivation,motivation and learning achievement among Korean junior middle school students?Based on Gao Yihong and Gardner English Learning Motivation and Motivation Strength Scale,this study formulated a questionnaire on the English Learning Motivation and Motivation Strength of Korean junior high school students,and conducted questionnaires and interviews with 600 Korean middle school students in Yanji City,the capital of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.Using SPSS 24.0,the data collected were analyzed by descriptive and inferential analysis,which included principal component analysis,descriptive analysis,single factor variance analysis and Pearson correlation analysis.The result of data analysis shows that,firstly,the motivation of English learning in junior high school students of Korean nationality is in the middle and upper degree.Among the motivation factors of Korean junior high school students,the intrinsic interest motivation score is the highest,the motivation of going abroad ranks behind,the personal development motivation ranks third,and the achievement motivation scores the least;In terms of motivation intensity of junior middle school students of Korean nationality,motivation intensity of English learning is also in the upper middle degree,the mean is 23.9841 and the standard deviation is 4.01214.Secondly,there is no difference between the seventh,eighth and ninth grades in the English learning motivation of Korean junior high school students.Among the intrinsic interests and personal development motives,there are obvious differences between the seventh and eighth grades and the seventh and ninth grades of junior middle school students of Korean nationality,and there is no difference between the eighth and ninth grades.Among the motives for going abroad,there are obvious differences among Korean junior middle school students in grades 8 and 9,and there is no difference between grades 7 and 8 and grades 7 and 9.Among the motivation of achievement,there are obvious differences between the seventh and ninth grades of junior middle school students of Korean nationality,and there is no difference between the seventh and eighth grades and the eighth and ninth grades;There are significant differences between grades 7 and 8 in terms of the intensity of motivation for learning English among Korean junior middle school students of different grades,and there are no differences between grades 8 and 9 and grades 7 and 9.Thirdly,there are positive correlations between English learning motivation,motivation intensity and learning achievement of Korean junior middle school students,English learning motivation and learning achievement,English learning motivation and learning motivation intensity and learning achievement.According to the above research results,this article draws the following enlightenment:when the Korean junior high school teachers conduct three-language education for Korean junior high school students,they should stimulate the English learning motivation of Korean junior high school students and make them interested in English,especially in the eighth and ninth grades Korean junior high school students English learning motivation.Korean junior high school teachers should encourage Korean junior high school students in the eighth grade to enhance their self-confidence in English learning,the Korean junior high school students will be trained as excellent three-language learners.
