Hermann Hesse(1877-1962),German writer, poet, and critic, was a Swiss national in 1923 and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature,Goethe Prize for Literature, and Feng Taina Prize.Hesse is the representative writer of the "new romantics".His thoughts and creations have consciously inherited the romantic literary traditions of Western culture, especially Germany, and at the same time they have merged the essence of Eastern culture and are deeply influenced by Indian Buddhism and Chinese Confucianism and Taoism.Hesse's unique romantic literary world not only reproduces the rich imagination and passionate self of the "early romanticism",but also has many bold attempts on modern style and artistic skills. The author enters his romantic literary world through literary structure which is from dualistic differentiation to harmonious unity, conducts"inward" review in the misplaced "different" world, presenting internal and external problems faced by modern people, and then rethink why the human spiritual world is ridiculous, and how to rebuild the existence of the soul.Through the analysis of the world of Hesse's literary world,it can be found that he basically summarizes the spirit of "new romanticism" along three dimensions:the "Eine","der weg nach innen ",and "soul waiter." On the path of Romanticism,Hesse took Novals as a spiritual teacher, but his romantic literary view showed transcendence such as peace, diversity, and tolerance in comparison with "early waves".Hesse's romanticism is so profound because he soothes the devastating human soul under poetic soft language and unique character images, and provides an alternative direction for people in crisis.
