Adorno Cultural Industry Critical Theory Research

The critical theory of cultural industry is an important part of Adorno's theories,with the development of society,science and technology,culture industry has penetrated every aspect of people's live,which has a very important impact on people's way of thinking and behavior.The cultural industry is the inevitable result of social development,it's not only capitalist countries,but also socialist countries,which has been more and more can't do without cultural products.It can be said that the cultural industry in the global phenomenon has spread,therefore,it is immediately that to fully understand the cultural industry.This article studies the critical theory of Adorno's cultural industry.Firstly,it expounds that the social background and theoretical basis.whatever theory was based on the specific historical background and theoretical basis.Adorno's thought of cultural industry came into being in the era of Nazi swamping and global industrialization.Meanwhile,American popular culture is also becoming mature.The theory of Benjamin,Freud and Marx had an important influence on the formation of his theory;Secondly,which to the multiple angle understanding of Adorno's critical theory of culture industry: through the existing problems of capitalist countries to analysis and research,Adorno's thorough has completed transformation the mass culture concept from the culture industry concept.In Adorno's view,the cultural industry is harmful to people's life,it only have a negative impact.Next,this thesis focuses on the cultural industry criticism thought' s content is described: which is divided into the three parts : mediocre(it is breaking the boundaries of elegant and vulgar art)?camouflage(it is to create illusion of artistic personality)and profit(it is become a tool to drive consumer to buy it).Then the function of Adorno's cultural industry is described in detail,so as to better reveal the connotation of Adorno's cultural industry critical theory to control the mass ideology.Finally,This paper analyzes the limitations of the critical theory of Adorno's cultural industry and the practical influence to our country.The cultural industry theory of Adorno is starting from the elite perspective,It is the limitations was inevitable,but the positive meaning of this theory prefer to the limitations.Especially for the contemporary China,It is at the key moment of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The great rejuvenation of Chinese nation is inseparable from the prosperity of culture.Only when culture are flourishes,the country become thriving;Only when culture are booming,the nation become stronger.Therefore,Adorno's critical industry has a certain reference for the development of Chinese characteristic socialist culture.
