Nowadays Thailand's economic development focuses on the development of new products and services. It also uses Thai traditional culture to integrate modern technologies to innovate products and services and accelerate the scale expansion of creative industries.Among various cultural and creative industries, the Thai film industry is the fastest growing and best industry. It can be seen that the copyrights of many Thai film works have been sold to various countries in the world and they have been broadcast.Thai films have also won many movie awards.Among these,Thai ghost films are particularly noteworthy.Thailand is a Buddhist country and most Thai people believe in something mysterious. We worship and admire inhuman ghosts. This is Thailand's customs. Therefore, there are always many temples in Thailand.Of course, there are temples where there are Buddhas, and if there are Buddhas, there will be ghosts. My research paper is the artistic characteristics and development trend of the Thai supernatural film. This paper selected three outstanding Thai films of the Grand Prix(Thai Film Gold Swan Award)as a case study of the analysis. Also referring to 33 Thai exotic films released at cinemas to analyze the development and artistic characteristics of Thailand's spiritual films, and comparing Hong Kong and Thailand's special films with Hong Kong and the United States as two examples, pointing out the Thai ghost films development trend. The three outstanding films I chose were ghosts and?Nangnak?(1999),?Shutter?(2004),and?Dorm?(2006)."Ghosts" took the film award at the 9th Thailand Film Golden Swan Award(1999).The ghost movie won the film award at the 14th Thailand Film Golden Swan Award(2004).He also won the Best Asian Film Award at the Fantasia Film Festi val 2005 in Canada and won the Fantastic Novel Prize at the Fantastic's Arts Festival of Gerardmer in France.Ghost Hostel Film won the Film Award at the 16th Thailand Film Golden Swan Award(2006).He also won the Crystal Simorgh for Best Director Award at Iran's 25th Fajr Film Festival Iran and two prizes at the 57th Berlin International Film Festival in Germany, the Crystal Bear for Best Feature Film Award and the Special Mention Award.Another 33 were used as reference for the Thai Religion movie. This article starts from the perspective of the film "Imaginative Signifier" proposed by Christian Metz.and uses the four elements proposed by the Thai film theorist?Kritsada Kerddee?to analyze the four major elements of the film, combining the principles of literary criticism.Combine elements such as storyline, theme, character, scene and background, screen and lens, movie symbols and codes, and film music.Analyze and prove the artistic characteristics of Thailand's ghost movies. The different films of the three countries have their own characteristics.Thailand's Spirituality film focuses on tapping elements of humanistic emotions in traditional spiritual legends. The American Spiritual film focuses on the development of commercialized visual effects. It uses high-tech hallucinatory images to render the horror aesthetic.Hong Kong's Spiritual film is socially critical and cured. What the eye sees is the ugliness of the human world. In the end,it is better to return to blindness. The analysis of this paper points out that the Thai supernatural film has a Versatility feature. Both traditional culture and foreign influence.Thailand's ability to accept foreign cultures does not seal itself up.Therefore, the performance of different films can blend Thai traditions with international trends. In addition, the unique humanistic sentiments of Buddhist compassion in Thai culture form the characteristics of Thailand's ghost films.Thai supernatural movies must adhere to and develop this feature in order to go to the international market.
