With the emergence of various advanced consumer software and financial tools, intertemporal choices have become increasingly close to daily life.Affect and time are important factorsa affecting intertemporal choice.Studies have shown that positive affect can reduce the individual's temporal sensitivity and delay individual choices by a large amount, but have not studied the different motivational dimensions of positive affect. The study selected 160 subjects, through a pre-experiment and two experiments explored that the influence of different approach-motivated positive affect and temporal frames on intertemporal choice.Experiment one divided the subjects into two groups and explored the influence of positive emotion and neutral emotion on intertemporal choice of individuals at different time points and situations;Experiment two further explores the impact of different motivational dimensions of positive emotions on individual intertemporal choice.Concluded as follow:(1)In different contexts and time frames, positive emotional group subjects were less sensitive than neutral emotional group subjects and had more patience with temporal distance, thus preferring to delay their choice.(2)The main effect of emotion group was significant, low approach-motivated positive affect group than high approach-motivated positive affect group neglected time sensitivity in intertemporal choice task, and tended to choose to delay a larger amount.(3)The main effect of profit and loss scenario is significant. In the return scenario, the subjects who are less sensitive to time and tend to choose to delay a larger amount, while those in the loss scenario prefer to choose the immediate and smaller amount.(4)The effect of the temporal frames on the low approach-motivated positive affect group and the high approach-motivated positive affect group is the same as that of the participants who are more inclined to choose the long-term large amount in the future delay framework.
