As the second largest economy in the world,China is playing an important role in the international arena. The competition among countries has focused not only on the hard power such as economy and military, but also on the soft power in terms of cultural aspects. As an important part of the soft power, shaping and maintaining a good national image has become an important force to enhance international competitiveness. In 2013,during the visit in Central Asia and Southeast Asia,Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the "One Belt and One Road" initiative, namely the"Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road".This is an important strategy for China's opening up today, and an important way to achieve China's revival and promote the prosperity of neighboring countries together. This research focuses on Singapore, one of the "Belt and Road?" cooperating countries.Research project is the documentary "The New Silk Road"(1-3 seasons)made by Singapore's national media-Channel NewsAsia.Through text analysis,it analyzes the subject settings, character settings, narrative structure, narrative perspecti, ves and narrative language. In addition,it also discusses how the national image is shaped by metaphors. Finally,it analyzes the Chinese national image of the"Belt and Road" from the five dimensions of politics, economy, enterprise, culture, and people.Case study shows that China's national image is generally positive and it's a peaceful, friendly, open, and rapidly developing manufacturing country. However, due to the stereotyped impression of "China's rise" and the appeal for national interests,in the context of Singaporean media, there're lots of content about the"China' threat" and problems in the construction of the "One Belt One Road".In this regard, the article believes that China should rationally treat the voice from the world media, not only to "tell the Chinese story well" but also to "listen to the voice from the world",and to solve problems in the actual construction at the same time.
