Reception Study Of A Sand County Almanac In China

With the worldwide problem of environmental pollution and ecological damage increasing rapidly,the environmental problem has threatened the substantial development of China seriously.In this case,Chinese scholars positively search for the root and solution of environmental problem,introducing western ecological philosophy into China in the 1970 s and 1980 s.During the procedure,the works of western ecology have been coming to China continuously,one of which is A Sand County Almanac whose author is Aldo Leopold published by Oxford University,fundamental to ecological ethics.Since it came into China in 1992,it has aroused Chinese scholars' attention because of its depth and width.Scholars study the work from the aspects of theoretical source,content and structure of A Sand County Almanac.By the end of2017,the history of its being accepted had been 25 years.However,in terms of various researches,up to now,there has been no achievement of research for studying the situation of how much A Sand County Almanac is actually studied in China.In terms of that,from the point of reception research in the field of comparative literature,the author tries to specifically explore different stages of A Sand County Almanac being studied in 25 years.With the methods of collecting,analyzing and summarizing materials,the essay divides the reception of A Sand County Almanac being studied into 3 periods,including the beginning period(1992-2001),the period of question and defense(2001-2010),and the period of internalization(2010-2017).In the beginning period,scholars' attitudes towards it is full of curiosity towards new things and hesitation of its being accepted.In the period of question and defense,scholars hold clear attitudes of criticizing and defending it,the two attitudes contracting each other fiercely,promoting the development of A Sand County Almanac.In the period of internalization,the degree of its being studied is much deeper.Scholars find its value of beauty and literature,even having a potential influence on the creation of modern Chinese literature of ecology.The 3 periods of its being accepted are not completely different.Instead,each onefocuses on one main content and combine others' content.In a word,the content of stages is deeper and deeper,which is closely related to the changes of Chinese society,economy and environment.Through studying the situation of A Sand County Almanac being accepted,the author finds its significance in arousing Chinese consciousness of ecology,promoting the structure of Chinese theory of environmental ethics and affecting the creation of modern Chinese literature.At the same time,in terms of the severe reality home and abroad,the reception of A Sand County Almanac doesn't end,always on the way.
