Research On Aldo Leopold’s Land Ethic

After the emergence of human civilization,the concept of ethics followed.The initial ethics was to deal with the relationship between human beings.Since modern times,human society has become more and more complicated,and the scope of ethics has been extended to the relationship between human and society,human and nature.However,the evolution of ethics is just only from the relationship between human,which extends to the relationship between human and society,and the relationship between human and nature has not gained independent ethical significance.Human still pretends to be the conqueror of nature.It seems that everything in nature is human’s private property,and the relationship between human and nature is only the relation of economic interests.With the development of modern society,ethics urgently needs a a new theory,which can extend ethical relationship between human beings to the ethics view between man and nature.The “A Sand County Almanac" is the crystallization of Leopold’s life ethics.Its natural concept,especially the thought of "Earth Ethics",opens the door of the ecological holism.This article starts from the background of the generation of Leopold’s earth ethics thought and the ideological background of the earth ethics thought formation.The exploration of "A Sand County Almanac" and its influence is made to analyze the "land community thought"of the earth ethics thought,the holism of the earth ethics,the basic moral principles of the earth ethics and the new values of the value of the earth.By comparing Leopold’s earth ethics thought with Singer’s "Animal Liberation Theory",Schweiser’s "fear of Life" and Rolston’s "Environmental Justice Theory",it highlights the unique anti-trend,comprehensive and extensible of the earth ethics thought.This paper combs the controversy and evaluation of Leopold’s thought by other scholars in academic circles,and then probes into the influence of Leopold’s earth ethics thought on the construction of ecological world outlook.Combined with 19 th CPC National Congress’ s ecological thought of "speeding up the reform of ecological civilization system and building beautiful China",this paper discusses that Leopold’s earth ethics thought is helpful to the construction of socialist ecological civilization and the construction of new relationship between human and nature.
