| Mainly taking India films introduced into China after 2000 as an example,mainly based on the Said Orientalism theory and its derivative”self Orientalism".this paper studies the shaping and dispelling of "Orientalism" discourse and draws inspiration to Chinese film culture.Chapter 1 explains the portray of Orientalism in India movies from the three aspects of Western cultural hegemony,the "other" status and "self Orientalism".The Western self superiority image reflected in the Western cultural hegemony and the understanding of the existence of India’s antagonism are the main manifestations of the "Orientalism"discourse in India movies in the twenty-first Century.Moreover,the "self Orientalism" of India films is displayed from India.This paper uses the concept of "the cater to Orientalism "in "self Orientalism" to analyze the images of both sides from the perspective of India.In addition,Chapter 1 analyzes the Western understanding of India culture through the "otherness" status of India.Chapter 2 mainly explains the digestion of the "Orientalism" discourse in India movies.The active dispelling misreading of the Western characters in the India film and the image transformation of India characters reinventing reality are the digestions of the antagonistic image of the two sides under the "Orientalism" discourse.Through aesthetic characteristics and realistic themes,Chapter 2 consciously reveals the unique ethnic elements and social modality of the real India,thus dispelling the Western understanding of India’s "otherness".From the links between the West and India characters and the contemporary secular spirit of India,Chapter 2 shows the blend of eastern and Western cultures,and then breaks the existence of the antagonism between India and the West under the "Orientalism" theory and realizes the dispelling of the orientalist discourse.Chapter 3.According to the digestion of the "Orientalism" discourse in India cinema,in the film,for China that is the same as the eastern countries,Chapter 3 puts forward four enlightenments:strengthening the use of national elements,amending the concept of "self Orientalism",emphasizing the output of values,and paying attention to realistic subjects. |
