| Igbo language is an important language in Nigeria and there is a large population of people using this language.With the increase of Chinese learners of Nigerian native speakers of Nigerian language,more and more people have noticed differences between their native language phonetics and Chinese phonetics.But so far no one has conducted a special contrastive study of the phonetics in these two languages.Therefore,it is of pioneering significance to carry out a contrastive study of the phonetics in these two languages.At the same time,a contrastive study of the phonetic systems of these two languages from the perspective of teaching Chinese as a foreign language can,on the one hand,find errors in Chinese pronunciation of Chinese learners who are native speakers of the Igbo language,and on the other hand can be used to explain and guide the learning and teaching of these Chinese phonetics.This dissertation is based on the author’s perception of the Igbo language and combined phonetic theory,comparative linguistic theories,and experimental phonetics research methods using praat software to conduct a comparative study of the Igbo language and the Chinese phonetic system in order to help Igbo native Chinese learners learn Chinese phonetics more effectively,and they also help Chinese teachers better understand Igbo phonetic system and help them design better teaching methods.The paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter One Introduction.This paper introduces the research object and scope,the significance and value of the research,literature review,research methods and sources of materials.The second chapter is an overview of Igbo language and the overall differences between the Chinese language and the Chinese phonetic system.The introduction of the similarities and differences between the language system,the word system,the phonetic system and the Chinese language system of the Igbo language was introduced.Chapter 3 compares the similarities and differences of the Igbo and Chinese vowel system.There are 8 vowels in the Igbo language and 10 basic vowels in the Chinese language.However,only 3 vowels in the Chinese and Igbo languages are the same,and the others are different.This chapter uses praat software to make vowels in two languages to show the differences.Chapter Ⅳ compares the differences between the Igbo and Chinese consonant systems.There are 22 consonants in Chinese,and 28 consonants in Igbo.The phonetic systems of the two languages differ in their pronunciation.The pronunciation of the Chinese tip of tongue-to-dental is not found in the Igbo language;there is no way to pronounce the pronunciation of the voiceless tone in the Chinese language.The Igbo language is not used.The Igbo language uses a large number of voiced sounds,but the Chinese language is rare.The Igbo language has such features as the larynx,soft arpeggio,and so on.This chapter uses praat to make a consonant map of the Chinese language to show the difference.The fifth chapter compares the tone of Chinese and Igbo language and its function.There are three tones in the Igbo language and four tones in the Chinese language.The tone of the Igbo language tone is different from the tone of the Chinese language.This chapter uses praat software to draw a picture of the tone of pronunciation in Igbo language.This chapter also describes some of the major features of Igbo tone.The sixth chapter focuses on the syllable consonants,vowel harmony and vowel assimilation in Igbo language.These are the specific phonetic phenomena in Igbo,and none of them are in Chinese.Chapter Ⅶ,Conclusion.This paper briefly analyzes the differences between the pronunciation system of the Igbo language and the Chinese phonetic system,which leads to the main performances of the pronunciation errors of the mother tongue students of the Igbo language in learning Chinese.The Chinese consonant sounds that are difficult for the Igbo language learners to learn at the primary stage are z[ts],c[tsh],zh[?],Z[ts],q[?~h],X[?].In particular,Igbo language does not have c[tsh]and q[tch]because the Igbo language has no difference between aspiration and non-aspiration tone. |
