The opera “There Was Once a Mountain” was created in 1989,which made its composer Liu zhenqiu pick off “Outstanding Composer Award” and the first “Mandarin Cup” hosted by Ministry of Culture of China.The aria “Mistakes Are All Mine” is the very classic part of the opera,which contains rich emotional change and is quite difficult to sing.It also has many valuable new attempts in art,which are worth to explore and summarize for us.This paper mainly discuss the aria,through consulting a large number of literature and combining actual singing practice,in order to give an intensive singing analysis on this aria,and to help us understand the deep spirit and value of the play,enjoy the beauty of art the characters' singing and performing bring to us,and more,get a clear idea of the development of China's National Opera in 1990 s.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part introduces the composer and the opera.The second part makes a statement about the main story and characters of the opera,and analyzes the music of the aria “Mistakes Are All Mine”.The third part is the core of the article,which makes detailed discussion on the sing analysis,as well as conclusion of singing technique for art processing,providing some theoretical reference to music learners,based on the writer's own stage experience.
