The opera "Canal Ballad" is an outstanding national opera appeared on Chinese opera stage in recent years.It inherits the tradition of national opera and draws lessons from Western opera creation techniques as well as draws the essence of traditional Chinese culture,such as folk songs,opera and folk custom,which embodies the unique artistic charm of Chinese national opera.This paper uses the Chinese national opera singing method as the basis of exploration to carry out detailed singing analysis of the famous aria “Where are you,Hong Lian” from the opera “Canal ballad”.First of all,it summarizes the singing style and characteristics of Chinese national opera.Secondly,it deeply describes the background,story and music style of the opera “canal ballad”.Finally,it thoroughly analyzes the singing skills and emotional performance of the song “Where are you,Hong Lian”.It aims to make some meaningful exploration of Chinese national opera aria singing,and improve self singing level.
