Research On The Dilemma Of Humanism Orientation In Primary English Teaching

The English curriculum standard in compulsory education stage indicates that English curriculum has the dual natures of instrumental and humanism orientation.Humanities contents also serve as a constituent element of key competence.The developing Internets and educational technology research also require us to pay attention to humanism orientation.Focusing on humanism orientation is beneficial for the understanding of the educational essence,which is conducive to comprehensive development of students.Firstly,based on my practical experience,I predict research question,sort the literature review and define core concepts.According to interview seven teachers,I find English teachers and administrators weigh instrumental orientation than humanism orientation in English teaching.Humanism orientation in English teaching is in a dilemma.Secondly,I analyze what it ought to be in humanism-orientated English teaching from essence,content,meaning,and design questionnaires for English teachers and students at middle or high stages in primary school.I describe humanism orientation in English teaching from behavior and concept aspects.The dilemma of humanism orientation in primary English teaching can be divided into five parts,that is teaching ideas,teaching objectives,teaching content,teaching process,and teaching evaluation.Then,Based on the ecological system theory,I explain the reason why the teachers in primary school are faced with dilemma in English teaching.From the micro system,it involves teachers' own teaching concept,teacher evaluation mechanism,and teacher training system.From the meso system,it involves the teaching ideas and teaching methods of colleagues,the management of school teaching,and the family environment of students.From the macro system,it involves the educational system,the educational concept,and the social culture.Lastly,thinking about how to improve the humanism dilemma in primary school English teaching.
