With the significant improvement of China's international status and the continuous promotion of the international strategies of "the Belt and Road Initiative" and so on,English as an international language is widely used in China.Oral English expression ability has become an important skill in cross-cultural communication in the new era.<The English Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2011Edition)> stipulates that the primary school to start to offer English courses from the grade three in China,and emphasizes which should focus on cultivating students' comprehensive language skills in listening,speaking,reading and writing.It is found that there are many problems in oral English teaching in primary school,such as teachers and parents' neglect of oral English teaching,the lack of oral training environment and atmosphere and other restrictive factors.All of these directly or indirectly lead to the phenomenon of dumb English.Oral English is a kind of vocal language form that takes English as a language for active communication.Oral English teaching is a kind of teaching behavior which takes English as the target language to cultivate learners' oral communication ability.The research is based on Krashen's second language acquisition theory,Swain's second language acquisition theory and constructivism theory.Under the guidance of <the English curriculum standard for compulsory education(2011Edition)>,a questionnaire on oral English Teaching in primary schools was complied(Teacher Edition,Student Edition).In this survey,senior students and English teachers in primary schools in S and T cities were investigated respectively.The survey dimensions includes the oral English of senior primary school students,the interest of senior primary students in oral English learning,difficulties in oral English learning of senior primary school students,teacher's oral teaching methods,teacher's oral teaching evaluation,etc.The purpose of this study is to fully understand the current situation of oral English Teaching in senior primary schools.The results show that although many achievements have been made in oral English teaching,there are still some problems.The specific performance is that the school does not pay enough attention to oral English teaching lack of environment and atmosphere for oral English communication on campus,teachers' approaches of English teaching are single and backward,and can not effectively implement the objectives of oral English teaching into classroom teaching,anxiety and shyness of primary school students leads to conflict with oral English,parents lack enough ability to help their children with spoken English.Further analysis shows that the main influencing factors of these problems involve four aspects:schools,teachers,students and parents.According to this,many measures are put forward,such as the school should attach importance to oral English teaching and optimize the enviroment and time of students' oral practice,eachers should add teaching research to improve oral English ability and level,students should strengthen their ability of self-study,overcome anxiety and study hard,parents should improve their understanding and protect their children's interests and listen to their children's voices,etc.Hope to solve many difficults in oral English teaching in primary school and provide effective help for English teachers in primary schools.Finally,improve the quality of oral English Teaching in primary schools and the comprehenive language abilty of primary school students.
