Mr.Huang Binhong's summarization on the brush and ink of Chinese painting may be a comprehensive expression of our predecessors.Huang's Seven-Ink Theory is a very valuable contribution to the contemporary's scholars, for his explanation on the dry ink has become an important starting point of the dry ink and dry ink paintings'studying, and his words“????,????---g?n ličqi?f?ng,růn hán ch?n y?”,(with the bone-dry ink which is like something dry to crack in the autumn wind,to obtain the artistic result which is moist as something in the spring rain)has been well known by the scholars and artists in the dry ink painting field. However, this line was written as“????,????---růn héch?n zé,g?n ličqi?f?ng”in the Qing Dynasty(1644-1911),instead of having any relationship with the dry ink,it was just a comment which praised the“thirsty or dry brushstroke”(it is just like something wet in the spring rain or dry in the autumn wind). It was Mr.Huang Binhong who has established the connection between the Chinese dry ink and the famous remark.By this“tiny”adjusting,Mr.Huang Binhong does not only endow the pure praising comment a new meaning, but also, includes the dry ink technique into the Seven-Ink Theory.Analysis of this adjustment,I have learned and seen Mr.Huang Binhong's cognitions and judgments on the dry ink,and the purpose and value orientation of his Seven-Ink Theory.
