The tea trade plays an important role in the modern history of the United States.Tea has triggered the war of independence of the United States and has promoted the trade between the United States and other countries, especially in Sino-American trade. After the 1920s and 1930s,the tea market in the United States developed rapidly, but at the same time, the adulteration of tea was becoming a serious problem, which seriously affected the normal development of the tea trade and damaged the immediate interests of tea consumers. In order to prevent the inflow of adulterated tea,the United States government began to strengthen legislation in the 1980s,promulgated a series of tea import laws and regulations, and gradually established a tea quality supervision system. In 1883,the American government passed the first "An Act to Prevent the Importation of Adulteration and Spurious Tea".In the form of legislation,it initially prescribes the inspection and identification procedures for imported tea. However, due to the fact that the bill itself has some defects, its effectiveness is not significant.Since then, the United States enacted the "An Act to Prevent the Importation of Impure and Unwholesome Tea" in 1897.This bill is relatively meticulous and has been implemented for more than 100 years, laying the foundation for the basic model of American tea regulation. In the 20th century,in response to the issue of tea dyeing, the United States issued two ordinances in 1911 and 1912,which further improved the supervision of tea quality. The establishment of the United States tea quality supervision system is deeply influenced by the United Kingdom.Like the United Kingdom, the United States also regulates the tea market through legislation and uses modern scientific methods as the main method for tea inspection. Its tea bill has also undergone gradual development and improvement. However, due to differences in the political system, economic and social environment in the United Kingdom and the United States, the tea legislation in the two countries is somewhat different:the United Kingdom is a comprehensive legislation, and the United States is a specialized one;the United Kingdom is mainly aimed at the domestic market, while the United States is focusing on imported tea.The validity of the United States tea bill has been questioned by the American public and triggered a series of disputes. The United Kingdom did not.The American tea quality supervision system has received satisfactory results, has guaranteed the quality and safety of tea in the American market, and has had a far-reaching impact on tea exporters and importers in the same period, and has demonstrated the quality of tea in the world. The role is an important part of the world tea inspection system.
