Research On The Narrative Strategy Of Chinese Youth Films-and Personal Adaptation Work "Abnormal Diary"

Values of young people are becoming the mainstream and strong concept of the whole society since the new era,with the development of social economy and the mainstream social group has been getting younger.Changes of social history,particularly sensitively and vividly embodied in youth's fates and thoughts,is also intuitively reflected in movies,then comes the emergence of a number of meaningful youth films.In the last few years,Chinese youth films have sprung up in big cinemas like mushrooms after rain.several films,led by "So Young","Tiny Times" and "Black Coal,Thin Ice",had made up more than half of the domestic movie summer box office.However,quite a few problems stand behind the prosperity of Chinese youth films nowadays.Such as the ambiguous type of definition,the excessive copying of successful elements and even incorrect guiding for values.The ultimate cause is not the visual representation of the director's narrative methods,but the lack of good script.Since most of them are adapted from novels,as far as the success Chinese youth films are concerned.This paper is divided into six parts,with the first one introduction.It firstly states out the purpose and significance of research.Secondly,it is a status review of researches on Chinese youth films,including domestic and abroad ones.Finally,the research method and innovation points of this paper are introduced.The second part is an overview of the development of Chinese youth films,with concept definition and process review included.The third part is the research on the narrative strategy of Chinese youth film.It is made through five aspects of theme category,narrative subject,narrative structure,narrative technique and aesthetic conception.The fourth part analyzes and expounds personal adaptation script "Abnormal Diary" on the basis of the narrative strategical theories in previous part.The fifth part is the comparison between personal artistic conceptions and the related works.The first one is the comparison of theme--"In the Heat of the Sun";second one comparison of narrative subject--"The Postman";third one comparison of narrative structure arrangement--"Ocean Flame";fourth one comparison of narrative technique--"Letter from an Unknown Woman";fifth one comparison of aesthetic conception--"A BrighterSummer Day".The sixth part is the conclusion which discusses and summarizes the research results of above from the author's point of view and looks ahead to Chinese youth films.The main significance of this paper is,by the study of Chinese youth movie narrative strategies and the experience of production process in personal adaptation,investigates the narrative dilemma of youth movie in China and approaches to create good film scripts.
