The next research is a compilation of 30 years of art adjoining the MexicanAmerican frontier,from its beginnings in 1986 until resent manifestations in 2016.The aim is to find in these 30 years of artworks,the common motivations and ideas that moved a representative group of artists in the production of Mexican-American border art.To achieve this,the thesis first contextualizes on the border relations among these countries,what triggered the creation of border art,and the development of its production in the zone.It introduces all the artworks that were placed adjoining the borderline,and then focusses on a historical and technical analysis of them.Based on the analysis there are determined common characteristics among these border art manifestations,in order to give a panoramic view of what kind of art the MexicanAmerican border has develop,and what is its role both for the art world and society. |
