Social responsibility attribution plays a virtual role in guiding social activities.Human behavior is influenced by the way of attribution. In addition, performance monitoring is also of great importance in the evolution,it helps to form adaptive behavior. The thesis aims to investigate the relationship between social responsibility attribution and performance monitoring,as well as the cognitive and neural mechanism of these two processes. The main purpose of Experiment 1 is to explore whether performance monitoring is modulated by social responsibility attribution. The task of the experiment is to estimate 1 second in a cooperative situation. The team results(win or lose)depends on the average performance of both players. In the feedback phase, participants are sequentially presented with team outcome, feedback on the teammate's performance, and their own performance feedback. Moreover, participants are split into two groups based on their post-hoc responsibility attribution tendencies: the ‘Modest' group and the ‘Ordinary' group.ERP results indicate that RewP amplitudes showed no difference between these two groups in team feedback phase. However, the RewP amplitudes were notably different in the Modest group when processing self-performance feedback at different levels of responsibility attribution.Using different responsibility attribution tendencies does affect individual performance monitoring.Experiment 2 adopts the same paradigm as in experiment 1 to explore the cognitive and neural mechanism of social responsibility attribution.Three groups are treated with transcranial direct current stimulation(tDCS)before the experiment for the anodal, cathodal and sham stimulation in the right temporo-parietal junction,(rTPJ).Results showed that the subjects in the cathodal group showed a stronger internal attribution tendency and showed higher sensitivity to performance monitoring.Subjects in the cathodal group are inclined to correct their own errors voluntarily irrespective of team success. In summary, our finding confirmed that performance monitoring is affected by attribution tendency, which reflected by RewP amplitudes.rTPJ plays an important role in the process of responsibility attribution. The inhibition of rTPJ enhance the internal attribution tendency, which is characterized by the sensitivity of performance monitoring.
