Creativity is a kind of ability to produce novel and reasonable products or ideas.Novelty and rationality are two significant characteristics of creativity,and also two important criteria to identify innovative ideas.How are innovative and reasonable ideas generated? Can we optimize the process and enhance creativity? Previous studies have found that there is a correlation between metacognition and creativity,and some teachers use metacognitive strategies to cultivate students' creativity.However,the mechanism of metacognitive monitoring and control in creative thinking is still unclear.In this project,tDCS technology is proposed to stimulate the brain areas related to the generation of innovative ideas in real time,analyze the changes of novelty and rationality index of creative insight problem-solving,and test whether people can monitor the novelty and rationality of thinking when generating innovative ideas;then,tDCS technology is used to stimulate the prefrontal cortex related to the implementation and control,and analyze the problems solved by creative insight The change of novelty and rationality index is to test the possibility and validity of metacognitive control to improve the novelty and rationality coefficient of creative thinking activities.In the first study,tDCS technology was used to enhance,weaken or virtually stimulate the activity properties of the right temporal parietal junction(TPJ)of the brain in real time,to investigate the behavior performance of the subjects in solving insight problems under three different stimulation conditions.The main effect of brain stimulation is significant for the novelty and effectiveness of creative insight problem solving.Compared with virtual and cathode stimulation,the novelty and rationality index of creative insight problem solving were significantly higher after anode stimulation of TPJ brain area,and there was no significant difference between virtual and cathode stimulation.This shows that TPJ can not blindly generate a new concept different from the old one,but can simultaneously detect the novelty and rationality of thinking.In the second study,tDCS technology was used to enhance,weaken or virtually stimulate the activity attributes of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC),to investigate the behavior of solving insight problems under three different stimulation conditions.For the novelty index of creative insight problem solving,the main effect of brain stimulation is significant,the novelty coefficient of anode stimulation DLPFC is significantly higher than that of virtual and cathode stimulation,and there is no significant difference between virtual and cathode conditions;for the rationality index of creative insight problem solving,the main effect of brain stimulation is not significant.This shows that metacognitive control can improve the novelty of creativity,but not the rationality.The experimental results of the two studies reveal that in creative thinking activities,people can monitor the novelty and rationality of thinking;metacognitive control can improve the novelty index,but not the rationality,which is the metacognitive monitoring and metacognitive control mechanism in creative thinking activities.This study aims to explore the psychological path,enhance the theoretical basis and point out the practical direction for the education and training activities based on metacognitive strategies to enhance creativity.
