Under the new curriculum reform,English teachers faced with enormous pressure and challenges,their existing knowledge and experience can not effectively cope with the requirement of the reform.Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen the professional development of English teachers.The construction of teachers learning community is an important path to promote middle school English teachers' professional development,is also an important means to improve teachers' teaching practice ability and teaching methods.Therefore,through the analysis of the present situation of English teachers learning community,it is found that English teachers are the important subject in the construction of English teachers learning community.First of all,through literature search,the study mainly introduces the present situation of the construction of middle school English teachers learning community at home and abroad.Such as,related background,core concept,significance,basic principles,the concrete research methods,key points and difficulties as well as innovation points.And on this basis,the characteristics and types of teacher learning community are studied and analyzed.Furthermore,this paper expounds the necessity of constructing the English teachers learning community in middle school from three aspects: the development of English teachers themselves,the development of students' academic development and the overall development of the school.Then,through the analysis of the successful case of teachers learning community in American Cottonwood Creek School,this paper probes into the promoting effect of learning community on the professional development of middle school English teachers.Meanwhile,this paper investigates the basic status of the construction of English teacher learning community in middle schools in China,and surveys and interviews with 220 English teachers from 4 middle schools in Chongqing and Chengdu.And this questionnaire covers the public school and private school in Chongqing and Chengdu.So,it can comprehensively and objectively reflect the current status of middle school English teacher learning community.Then,accordingto the implementation status,the corresponding,descriptive and statistical analysis is carried out.The study found that although middle school pays close attention to the professional development of English teachers,it can also organize so many community activities such as post-job training and observation class and evaluated a lecture.But after in-depth analysis found that the construction of school system and the safeguard mechanism are incomplete.English teachers have no deep recognition of the importance of learning community,and have less time to participate in community learning activities.There are many reasons for this.First,at the school level,the learning environment is closed,the system is absent and the training content is single.Second,at the individual level of English teachers,they are lack of the concept of lifelong learning,and their consciousness of independent development are also weak.Third,at the level of English teachers,there is no common vision,and teachers cooperation culture is closed.Therefore,in order to promote the development of English teachers' professional ability,combining with the reality of the current middle school English teacher learning community,from the three aspects: First,establishing the cooperation atmosphere,enriching the content of English teachers' training,and changing the school system are needed.Second,It is necessary to establish English teachers' lifelong learning concept,cultivate their learning motivation and enrich their professional knowledge.Third,to build up a common vision and enhance their community consciousness are also essential.At last,this paper puts forward the improvement strategies of the construction of middle school English teachers learning community.
