William Shakespeare and his works enjoy a high reputation in the world,Chinese classical drama is not only occupies a very important position in Chinese literature, but also an important part of the world literature.Although these works appear in different countries, they have reached a high level in artistic attainments, and it is of great significance to compare the supernatural factors between them.In this article,we will select the representative "midsummer night's dream","Hamlet","Macbeth" and "the tempest" in Shakespeare's plays.Compared with the classic Chinese classical drama "Snow in Summer","peony pavilion" and "Palace of Eternal".This paper consists of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion, which are divided into five chapters. The introduction firstly introduces the phenomenon of supernatural factors, and summarizes the research status of the supernatural factors of Shakespeare and Chinese classical drama. On this basis,by means of Shakespeare's plays and the description of the supernatural elements in Chinese classical dramas, find out their differences, and find out the reason of them is different from the ideological root, the significance and the value of doing research. The first chapter and the second chapter mainly selects the representation of the sacred objects and ghosts in Shakespearean plays and Chinese classical dramas, and then leads to a comparative study of the supernatural factors. The third chapter explores the similarities and differences between sacred things and ghosts. The similarities are mainly discussed in three aspects: rendering atmosphere, promoting plot development, portraying character image and solving drama conflict. The differences are described in terms of the sacred and the ghost. The sacred things in Shakespeare's plays highlight the humanized features.Compared with Shakespearean plays, the supernatural elements in Chinese classical dramas are more embodied in idealized features. In hierarchical relationships, the latter is relatively strict.First of all,the difference between the two is the difference in status. The ghosts in Shakespeare's plays are mostly male, and the latter is mostly female and plays the leading role in the play. There are two types of ghosts in Chinese classical opera: "death by injustice" and "death for love",but not all of them apply to Shakespeare's plays. In the transformation of people, gods and ghosts, the expression of Chinese classical opera is relatively free, and they cannot be converted into each other in Shakespeare's plays. To sum up,supernatural factors also differ greatly in theme performance. The fourth chapter explores the causes of supernatural factors from the deep roots of mythology, religion and specific social background.First,Shakespeare lived in the west, influenced by Greek mythology and Christianity.Secondly, ancient Chinese writers were deeply influenced by Confucianism,Buddhism and Buddhism, and lived in the era of feudal ideology.Cultural soil and traditional background are different,so it is necessary to produce heterogeneity. The fifth chapter discusses the aesthetic value of supernatural factors on the basis of the previous chapters. To interpret the realistic significance and aesthetic value of the supernatural factors from the two aspects of "combining illusion with truth" and "combining real with illusion".The conclusion part summarizes the main purpose of the thesis and confirms the significance and value of supernatural factors.
