Since the advent of film,China's film and television translation activities have developed rapidly.Film and TV translation is now playing an important role in communication and exchange.Attracting the continuous attention of scholars, relevant studies have made great achievements. However, compared with the West, the related interdisciplinary research is scarce, and sociology is still quite an unfamiliar angle when studying film and TV translation.Since the 1990 s,researchers have gradually introduced sociological perspectives into translation studies.Among them,Bourdieu's sociological theory has had a profound influence, providing many new ideas for translation research. This paper intends to adopt a descriptive approach and use Bourdieu's practice theory to explore the field, capital, and translator's habitus in domestic film and TV translation practice.Through analysis, this thesis finds that film and TV translation practice has not yet formed a fully functioning field. To be more accurate, film and TV translation practice is carried out in a space with dynamic networks.Agents in this space own various types of capital and gain capital through transition. As for translators' habitus, the main influencing factors are: the educational background of translators, codes and criteria of the industry, censorship, economic drive, and public taste.
