The Ecological Criticism Thought Of Marcuse And Its Contemporary Enlightenment

As a representative of the Frankfurt school,Marcuse made a great contribution to the exploration of social critical theory and formed its own unique ecological critical thinking,his thought lays the foundation for the formation and development of Western ecological marxist theory.Marcuse's One Dimensional Man,Counter-revolution And Insurrection,and An Essay on Liberation,etc.,have deeply criticized the anti-ecological nature of capitalist system,and revealed the inherent connection between natural repression and capitalist system.He stood in the critical dimensions of technical rationality,alienation of labor,alienation of consumption and capitalist system,and exposed the evils of industrial society to people naked.He was eager to awake human attention to nature and ecology and liberate the human sensibility from the control of the capitalist society,and then to liberate the natural world which is bound by the rationality of capitalist technology.In the past,scholars ignored the relationship between the new sensibility and the natural liberation,and only studied it as two independent subjects.But by reading about the work of Marcuse,the idea of his new sensibility is the soul and the key to his ecologically critical mind.On the basis of this,the author constructed the picture of his unique natural liberation through the perspective of "new sensibility".Marcuse proposes to explore the new sensibility of mankind through the establishment of new technology and new consumption concept,to create a new kind of "new person",and change the attitude that has not paid much attention to ecological problems in the past.And also proposes to emancipate the mind and the aesthetic field,and to use the critical spirit of art to restore the inner dimension of the human heart to negation,criticism and transcendence.At the same time,he hope to achieve natural liberation through humane treatment of nature.There are still some shortcomings in such a seemingly bright road.Such as he misinterpreted Marx's concept of "labor" to some extent,his view of pessimism makes his mind eventually escape from utopia.Most fundamentally,he has not been able to touch the roots of the capitalist ecological crisis.However,it must be admitted that Marcuse's ecological critical thinking has brought infinite ecological theories and new ideas to posterity.In particular,the current situation of ecological environment in China is becomingmore and more serious.Marcuse proposed "in accordance with the laws of beauty of objective world","with true instead of false consumption","humane approach to nature" thought not only has a profound theoretical value,but also has special practical significance.
