A Report On The Nineteenth CSIAF Interpreting Project

Nowadays,with the advancement of globalization,the comprehensive exchanges between China and other countries are not confined to the political and economic sector.Instead,they extend to the field of culture and arts.The 19th China Shanghai International Arts Festival(CSIAF)was held from October 20th to November 19th,2017,and the reporter worked as an interpreter for the Danish arts festival consultant group and the Danish art troupe "7 Even" from the "Black Box" dance company.This project report is mainly based on the interpreting of the promotion event of the performances and interviews with the Danish choreographers.In this project,the reporter encountered with three difficulties and problems:lack of modern dance-related knowledge,interpreting of number,and adaptation to the Danish accent.The reporter analyzed the examples of on-site interpreting and offered three solutions based on the difficulties and problems:firstly,accumulate modern dance-related knowledge;secondly,improve number conversion skills through practicing;thirdly,get familiar with different accents.The reporter hopes that the analyses and results in the report can provide a reference for future interpreting in the modern dance field.
