The films of Animation "Chinese School" have a strong traditional national characteristics.Those animations are created by absorbing the essence of Chinese traditional thinking like Confucianism,Buddhism,Daoism as well as a variety of traditional forms of artistic expressions.As the pioneer of Chinese animation and the spiritual leader of the Animation "Chinese School" the Wan Brothers took the lead in trying to base their creations on Chinese traditional culture and explore the production of animations' styles that can represent our own nation.As the organization leader of the "Chinese School of Animation",Te.wei was the first who put forward the slogan of “Taking the Way of National Style” and led the animation artists of the Shanghai Animation Film Studio to create a new type of animation drawing on the wisdom of the masses.This article focuses on the Wan Brothers and Te.Wei as an example to analyze the process of the interpretation and release of Chinese traditional culture in the Animation "Chinese School" and excavate the essence inside the traditional culture in order to show their significance of inspiration and guide for contemporary Chinese animation creators.This article takes the Wan Brothers and Te.Wei,senior artists of animation creation,as the starting point of the study.Through combing the origins of his family education and his unique understanding of the national culture,this article tries to interpret in-depth and systematically their animation films from the perspective of traditional culture and form of artistic expressions,excavate the essence of the traditional culture contained in the animated works in order to reveal the characteristics and impact of the Animation "Chinese School" and exhort contemporary animation creators to understand and enhance their self-confidence in the Chinese culture,at the same strive to create animation works with distinctive national characteristics by improving their cultural mastery.
