From the three dynasties to the Ming and qing dynasties,the capital city was the residence of tianzi,with important symbolic significance and political status.In order to ensure the security of Beijing,a complete system of public security management was established in the Ming dynasty.The patrol battalion was established under the background of the deterioration of social security and the difficulty of the five cities’ military division in the field of patrolling.The patrol battalion was officially established during the reign of emperor hongzhi,with a governor,a middle officer,a staff member,and a general manager.The duty of the patrol battalion is to patrol and capture,to control and to remove the vagrants and to carry out some temporary tasks.Transactions on the camp is mainly composed of touring Beijing road and ministry of war camp management,but in the actual execution,and cooperate on camp have overlapping functions or departments,such as security,tianfu(,sophomore,nanyang county),tour city empire to camp on the transaction has certain voice.The patrol battalion was established in the middle of jiajing period,especially during the period of guiyong’s patrol,which had a positive effect on the law and order of the Ming dynasty.Later period to the Ming jiajing,the state in the basement of the background,combined with the existing single function,on the camp fled army,weak,wood,etc.,on the camp on patrol to catch thief role have weakened.In carrying out the task,the mandate of the patrol battalion is also affected by different degrees,which is a disadvantage in the process of dealing with other relevant institutions in Beijing.But in general,the active role of the patrol in maintaining the security of the capital is not obtuse.
