Since the oil painting was introduced into China,it has been loved by many people.The process of the development of oil painting in China produced a lot of styles and genres,local realism oil painting is in a special historical period,and after that to become to mainstream realism for the creation of art.In the west,the study of local oil painting also has a long history,during the Renaissance period,there were works with local plots.In the expression of the content of the western oil painting,it usually describes the daily life and collective life of the peasants,such as the peasants who are working,the scenes of the peasants resting,the prayers of the peasants,etc.Artists from different perspectives,such as politics,culture and religion,use different painting languages and art forms to achieve their own creative purposes.Western oil painting has a great influence on Chinese painting.Since the introduction of oil painting in China,the local oil painting has been born,which is closely related to the local culture of our country.Since ancient times,China has been a big agricultural country,and farmers are the largest subject in the country.Therefore,it is an indispensable part of the painting of local subjects.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the peasants turned over to become the masters of the country.In this period,the artists made more of the peasants as the theme of painting,making them active in the works.After the cultural revolution,realism returned,and the local oil painting was very realistic,and the rural life situation was actually reflected on the canvas.In the new century,there are more forms of local oil painting,they are the artists’ nostalgia for their hometown.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the development of western "rural" oil painting and the influence of western oil painting on China.The second part,as an important chapter of this paper,mainly discusses the development process of the realistic oil painting in China and the influence of western realistic oil painting on the development of Chinese oil painting.Through this part,the viewer has a deeper understanding of the realistic painting.The third part respectively from the aspects of history,material and social value creation,this paper expounds the era significance of local realism oil painting,as well as the local realism oil painting in China status and endowed with new connotation.The fourth part discusses the present situation of the realistic oil painting in China and the prospect of its future development.
