The drama of holocaust refers to those dramas which depict the persecution,extermination of Jews and other minorities such as Roma,the disabled,the mentally ill and homosexuals during the period 1933-1945 and those dramas which reflect on the Holocaust,describe the survival dilemma of survivors.Massive holocaust dramas have emerged in European countries,the United States,and Israel.Among these works,ethics has always occupied an important position.In this thesis,we selected The Theater of the Holocaust which is compiled by Robert Scott as the object of study.There are 3 drama works with the same ethical themes.They are Who will carry the words?Resort 76 and Cannibal.Through the method of textual reading and from the perspective of ethic,the a uthor analysed and interpreted by using the terminology of the ethical literary criticism,in combination with psychoanalysis,political philosophy,existentialism philosophy,sociology and other related theories.The thesis consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly discusses the development of holocaust drama and the research results of holocaust drama at home and abroad.On the basis of previous researches,this thesis puts forward the research directions,research methods and research significances.The second part focuses on the Who will Carry the Words.It probes into the dilemma of existence in concentration camps and the ethical choice of individual suicide in this extreme predicament.It points out that under certain special circumstances,suicide,as the only free action,is a reasonable act of keeping human nature.The third part takes the Resort 76 as the research text,revealing the significance of Jewish ethical concepts such as "justice","family" and "abortion" to the ethical choices of characters in the Jewish community.It concludes that the unique ethic concept of Judaism has a profound influence on the behavior choice of the Jews in the predicament.The fourth part takes Cannibals as the research text,exploring the ethical dilemma of"cannibalism" and tracing the origin of this ancient taboo.Through careful analysis of the ethical predicament of "cannibal" in the play,revealing the deep contradictions between the primitive subsistence desire and the taboo of ancient ethics which are hidden in the subconscious of human beings.It is concluded that maintaining the ethical morality must be sold at a cost of bloodshed.The fifth part is the conclusion.The paper reveals the dilemma that the characters face their ethical choice through analyzing the background of the ethical dilemmas in the three holocaust dramas.From the perspective of "anti-ethicalization",this article analyzes how Nazi construct a "anti-ethicalization" social environment step by step and reveals the evil nature of the "anti-humanistic crime" of the Nazis.It is concluded that the individual still has the responsibility of adhering to the ethical responsibility in the predicament.Therefore,it provides some enlightenment for the construction of modern social ethics.
