As people-to-people bond develops in depth, the progress of the Belt and Road Initiative is being constantly advanced.A large number of cultural activities between China and countries along the Belt and Road have not only raised the demand of interpreters, but also put forward higher requirements for the roles of interpreters and the quality of interpreting.Taking the project of Run My Silk Road as the research object, this report focuses on several examples to demonstrate issues and difficulties encountered during interpreting process, including confusion about interpreters' roles, lack of background information and professional knowledge, and incoherent logic.Based on the skopos theory and analysis of audio-recording transcripts of the project, the following solutions are proposed:firstly, interpreters should identify their role positioning and strive to become cultural connecters, emotion communicators and project facilitators;secondly, interpreters need to make language and non-language pre-task preparations to build up their background information and professional knowledge;thirdly, interpreters are suggested to improve logical thinking and interpreting quality through retelling exercises. It is hoped that the solutions proposed in this report can provide guidance and help for interpreters in similar cultural activities.
