Writing is an output skill that can reflect the comprehensive ability of the second language,and writing teaching is a particularly important part of the second language teaching.In high school,teachers should pay attention to cultivating students' autonomy and enthusiasm in English writing,helping students express their opinions,and writing feedback is an important way to improve students' English writing ability.In the past,the study of corrective feedback types was carried out in the cognitive-interaction framework,in which the empirical study of corrective feedback focused on "if corrective feedback is effective" and "what kind of feedback is more effective",but the results are still very different.In recent years,in order to solve this contradiction,some scholars have chosen a new theoretical basis,that is Sociocultural Theory.The three main concepts of Sociocultural Theory are internalization,zone of proximal development,and scaffolding,which emphasizes that teachers should provide scaffolding activities in the zone of proximal development of the learners so as to promote the internalization of the learners.From the perspective of Sociocultural Theory,the effectiveness of corrective feedback is not based on the feedback type,but on how teachers communicate with the learners,and provide feedback to the learners based on their own level,then improve their level effectively.Therefore,on the basis of the new curriculum for senior high school English teaching and the status of our English writing teaching,this research based on the Sociocultural Theory,tries to explore an effective feedback mode to improve students' writing ability,thus puts forward the feasible suggestions for English writing teaching in senior high school.In this research,experimental method and survey research method were used to answer three research questions:(1)What is the current situation of corrective feedback in high school' English writing? To be specific,what types of corrective feedback are faced with by high school students in their current English writing? How about their attitude to these types of corrective feedback and English writing ?(2)What are the effects of corrective feedback based on Sociocultural Theory on the English writing ability and writing attitude of high school students?(3)How to effectively implement the corrective feedback based on Sociocultural Theory?This research selects a class from the sophomore class as a subject.There are 53 Students in the class.The researcher divides the students into two groups based on the grade of students' English composition,26 students in the experimental group and 27 students in the control group.In the 12-week study,the researcher used six essays in the compulsory workbooks of the high school English as writing material and conducted six essay training on the experimental group students,trying to check the feasibility of corrective feedback based on Sociocultural Theory in improving high school students' English writing ability.In this research,English writing ability is mainly measured by the measurement of students' language knowledge and textual knowledge,and assists by interview of students' writing attitude.Textual knowledge mainly involves the students' knowledge of subject matter,coherence and structure.Language knowledge mainly involves students' vocabulary,syntax and grammar.Writing attitude mainly involves students' emphasis,enthusiasm and self-confidence on writing.The data collection includes interview,observation and six exercises.Through the analysis of the data,it shows that the students' knowledge of the discourse and language have greatly improved under this feedback mode.In addition,students' attitude towards English writing from negative to positive.We can say that such feedback can improve students' writing ability and writing attitude.Based on the this research,researcher puts forward some suggestions on how to effectively implement corrective feedback based on Sociocultural Theory from five aspects: feedback atmosphere,feedback preparation,feedback content,feedback summary and feedback time.Through this kind of feedback,it can help teachers understand and guide students,and greatly improve students' English writing ability.
