The Pure Land Buddhism during the Yuan and Ming Dynasties had unique significance in the history of Chinese Buddhism development. The Yuan and Ming Pure Land Essays were in a period of decline, and the Pure Land Sect was once revived in the late Ming Dynasty. As the carrier of Buddhism thoughts in this period, the Pure Land Book shows the characteristics of melting Buddhism,Zen Buddhism, and advocating the chanting of Buddhism. It has significant influence on Buddhism at that time and later. The theory of the theory of Pure Land in the Qing Dynasty and even modern times basically originated from the theoretical system embodied in the Pure Land Patriarchal Work in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. Therefore, the investigation of the development and characteristics of the Pure Land Patriarchal Work during the Yuan and Ming Dynasties was of great significance to sort out the source of the Pure Land Patriarchal thought. This article takes the research of the Pure Land Doctrines of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties as the object of study and cross-references the historical incarnations of the Yuan and Ming dynasties during the Yuan and Ming dynasties in the Da Zheng Zang and the Continuation of the Tibetan Scriptures,as well as the Biography of the Da Ming Gao Qiang Biography and the Pure Land Sages. And combined with the religious policy, the Pure Land, and other religious trends at that time, combed out the characteristics of the development of the Yuan dynasty land titles. The article is divided into four chapters:The first chapter mainly discusses the religious policy of Yuan and Ming and their influence on the development of the Pure Land.First of all, from the political and cultural background of the development of the Book of Pure Land, the author analyzes the overall situation of the teaching trends, monastic economy, and religious literature, and summarizes the general characteristics of the Yuan Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty respectively. Then divided the Yuan Dynasty, the middle and early Ming Dynasty, and the late Ming Dynasty to discuss the characteristics of the development of the Pure Land under the influence of religious policy in each period. The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the common writing background of the various works of the Pure Land in the Yuan and Ming dynasties. Both the second and third chapters introduce the general situation of each Pure Land sectarian book one by one according to successively discussing the general content, the main purpose, the origin of the book, the author's life, the doctrine reflected in the book, and the format of origin and influence.Due to the shorter reigning time in the Yuan Dynasty, there were fewer books on the Pure Land,so the second chapter explored the Pure Land Patriarchal Writings in the Yuan Dynasty, regardless of time period. The third chapter is divided into two periods of the mid-Mid to the late Ming Dynasty to describe the Ming dynasty works in the Ming Dynasty. This is because the revival of the Pure Land Sect occurred in the late Ming Dynasty. The popularity of the Pure Land Sect during this period exceeded that of the Zen Buddhism, and the Zen Buddhism merging and the Three religions.Unity and respect for the characteristics of direct Buddhist practice, such as Buddhism and Taoism, all showed obvious trends in the Yuan Dynasty and the mid-Ming period of the Ming Dynasty, and finally formed in the late Ming Dynasty. The fourth chapter mainly discusses the macro development characteristics reflected in the works of the Pure Land of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties,as well as the origin of these characteristics.Through the analysis of all aspects of the Pure Land Pamphlet in the first two chapters,it is concluded that the Pure Land Patriarchal Work during the Yuan and Ming Dynasties featured the integration of various ideological thoughts, the completion of the integration of Zen Buddhism, the emphasis on the study of Buddhism and the prevailing practice of recitation of Buddhist names. Then it extends forward to trace the theoretical basis and ideological origin of the above characteristics.
