As China is becoming increasingly important in the international society in China's New Era,Chinese culture now has been attached with more attention accordingly.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM hereafter),as one part of traditional culture,has been highly valued by the Chinese government.At the same time,due to the fast pace of life and work in the modern society,massive numbers of people have suffered from “physical-psychological comorbidity”,which actually has already become very common phenomenon,which impacted the change,development and also occurrence of the disease.There are various components of traditional Chinese culture,among which TCM enjoys a unique position due to its profound history and psychosomatic medicine.Psychosomatic medicine is deemed as the intersection of western medicine and TCM,which is absolutely a contributor to the development of medicine science in the world.Given this reason,translating A Study of Psychosomatic Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine is nothing but a beneficiary project.The report consists of five parts,including introduction,task description,translation process,case analysis and conclusion.In the introduction part,it illustrates the translation background,the significance of the translation and research framework.The second section focuses on the content and stylistic features of both the source text and target text.The third chapter explores three stages,including preparation,translation and quality control.Then,the fourth chapter summarizes the difficulties coming across during the translation process from three perspectives,including the difficulties in the textual level,the syntactic level and the lexical level.The conclusion is drawn in the last part of this paper.The analysis of this paper is made from the perspective of Skopos theory,aiming to make a summary about the translation methods adopted during the translation process of the A Study of Psychosomatic Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine.It is of great importance to make a detailed analysis about this topic focusing on what translation methods should be used in various situation and the strategies to improve the translation quality.The discussion over the translation strategies used in this project is also helpful for the translation of other medical documents in the future.
