A Study Of The Questions And Answers In Classical Poetry From The Perspective Of Interpersonal Metafunction

So far,there have been numerous studies on classical poetry,but few people have done research on its presentation of the questions and answers.This thesis aims at studying the present characteristics of Q&A in classical poetry from the perspective of interpersonal function and the relation between it and the genre of poetry.This thesis selects 110 classical Chinese poems of Han and Six dynasties,Tang dynasty,Song dynasty and Yuan,Ming,and Qing dynasties with questions and answers as the corpus of this study.With reference to the characteristics of the genre of poetry,this study aims to reveal the mood structure of questions,the presence and absence of responses as well as the identity of the relationship between the questioner and answerer,and how these aspects relate to poetry genre mainly from the perspective of mood,speech roles and context in interpersonal meaning.It is found that the characteristics of Q&A in classical poetry are closely related to its genre.Because of the unique genre of classical poetry according to form and content,the question and answer in classical poetry have their own characteristics different from other genres.The choice of mood structure of questions in classical poetry reflects the strong and thought-provoking feature of poetry,so as to realize the resonance between poetry and readers.The presence and absence of the Q&A and the genre of classical poetry according to form are closely related,which is mainly affected by the format requirements of poetry and embodies the refined features of the classical poetry at the same time.The difference of the questioner and answerer is closely related to the classification of the genre of classical poetry according to content,which embodies the characteristic of reflecting life in a high condensing way in classical poetry.Through this study,we would like to propose a new perspective to understand,appreciate and study poetry by using the international popular contemporary linguistic theory to study the traditional Chinese poetry,in order to present the rich implications of poetry according to form and meaning.
