An Analysis Of The Application Of Classical Speech Act In Chinese Classical Poetry

Austin is the pioneer of speech act theory, and he was the first man who put forward the theory of “talking is doing things”. After the continuous succession and development of the scholars, the theory of speech act has become one of the three pillars of pragmatics. Since the date of its birth, it has been widely used in a variety of text researches and discussions. The study of this theory is mainly used in the main western languages, and for Chinese research,it is mainly reflected in the dialogue, rather than the study of Chinese classical poetry. Therefore, this paper aims to realize the combination of speech act theory and China native language culture. Use the linguistic theory to analyze the poetry. This thesis is based on the narration of the amendment and development of Searle’s theory. According to the source, classification and characteristics of speech act theory, the Chinese classical poetry is used as the corpus to study the concrete manifestation of different sentence types in the speech act theory. Using the short words to express the profound meanings,especially some meanings are not expressed directly, but through the description of the literal meaning to express the author’s real intention indirectly, and discuss the literal meaning of the words and their corresponding speech acts.
