This report on translation is excerpted from the second chapter of the doctoral dissertation THE Feedback Culture in Translator Education: A Comparative Exploration of Two Distict University Translation Programs written by Hisham M.Alfayyadh in 2016.[When selecting this material on June 10,2017,there was no translated version at home or abroad(shown in the screenshot).] Previous studies flagged concern about a communication gap between translator instructors and students in undergraduate translation practice classes without elaborating on the feedback.The analytical framework presented by the orginal author helps to investigate how feedback was situated,shaped,and negotiated in translator education.From a new perspective,the dissertation addresses some of the problematic issues reported in previous studies about feedback in translator education.From the perspective of contrastive study on English and Chinese languages and with the guidance of their respectively different features,the translator employs the appropriate translation strategies to deal with the difficulties in vocabulary,syntax and expertise knowledge when translating.As an academic thesis,it is strong in speciality and clear in semantics.The translator should use some translation techniques such as amplification and omission,conversion and turning positive voice to passive one to conform to Chinese expression for best translation.The translator has improved translation ability greatly from such a program.Meanwhile,the translator has realized that good bilingual literacy and broad range of knowledge enable a translator to approach the real meanings conveyed by the orginal author and to express completely in accordance with the reading habits of target language readers.After summarizing the experience in the process of translating the educational articles,the translator is aware of the shortage in translating the professional works.Given this,the translator just focuses on the improvement in translating this type of text with guidance of the differences in two languages for future practices.
