In the current thesis, regression mixture modeling and longitudinal data were employed to test the relationship between parenting behaviors and ADHD symptom and conduct problems.Firstly, the latent profile analysis(LPA)was used to examine the latent profile of parenting behaviors in a sample of aged 6-12 children and their parents(N = 361,age range from 9 to 13 years old,52% are girls).Secondly, the regression mixture modeling was employed to test the longitudinal relationship between different parenting subgroups and ADHD symptom(indexed by Swanson,Nolan and Pelham Rating Scale,SNAP)and conduct problems(indexed by Child Problematic Traits Inventory,CPTI).Results demonstrate that two latent classes best characterized the mother-report parenting behavior(Positive Only,Negative Only)and three subgroups were identified for the father-report parenting behavior(Positive Only,Negative Only,Mixture). In addition, there were significant differences among different subgroup on the SNAP and CPTI scores.Negative parenting behaviors could predict more symptoms of ADHD and behavioral problems. The findings could help to understand the different subgroup of parenting behavior, and provide more implication for the clinicians to decrease the risks of ADHD symptoms and conduct problems.
