Embodied Power: The Influence Of Body Posture And Spatial Position On The Concept Of Power

Embodied cognition is the basic view of the second generation cognitive science,which holds that the body and the environment of the body have an important influence on human cognition.We should first explore the unconscious cognition before discussing embodied cognition.The so-called no body cognition is accompanied by the second half of the twentieth Century revolution of information technology,etc.on the characterization of the human cognitive process of calculation of information processing,cognitive scientists,on the basis of cognitive scientists,psychologists in the cognitive field has made great progress.In order to better understand embodied cognition,this paper discusses the philosophical origin,theoretical basis and limitations of the three aspects.The origin of the philosophical thought of disembodied cognition can be traced back to Platon in ancient Greece.In his theory of soul,Platon emphasizes that the body is the barrier for human to acquire knowledge,and that mankind can obtain truth only after getting rid of the bondage of body.This simple cognitive concept is embodied cognition first thought,this idea reflects the cognitive concept of ancient Greek philosophers,they believe that the body for the acquisition of knowledge without help,and even sometimes become obstacles,so they start to ignore in the body function in cognition.The French philosopher Descartes inherited the idea,in the relationship between body and mind he put forward the idea of "dualism",Descartes thinks the mind is different from the body,can separate from the body,knowledge exists in the mind,here Descartes will mind(consciousness)and solid(body)in opposition.Later humans enter the third revolution of science and technology,the information technology revolution in twentieth Century,the third technological revolution,the development of computer science,put forward the concept of artificial intelligence,the development of cognitive science,the disembodied cognition plays an important role in further development.The theoretical basis of the unconscious cognition comes from the cybernetics,information theory and functionalism after World War ii.Based on the above theoretical basis,the development of the four paradigms of semiotic,computational,symbolic and cognitive has been developed.But with the in-depthstudy of many cognitive scientists found in the information processing paradigm as the leading "first generation" cognitive orientation does not seem to be a good explanation of the human cognitive process,and even the existence of defects in certain situations,so the "second generation" of cognitive embodied cognition came into being.Different from the unconscious cognition which ignores the bodily function,embodied cognition emphasizes the role of the body and its environment in the cognitive process.This paper focuses on the two connotations of embodied cognition,sensorimotor experience and metaphor.Sensorimotor experience refers to the perception experience of an individual's body,which plays an important role in the cognitive process;metaphor refers to the individual's use of simple and specific concepts to understand the complex and abstract concepts.This paper explores the roles of the two connotations in cognition from these two aspects.This study explores the influence of body posture and spatial location on the concept of power from the perspective of embodied cognition.In Experiment 1,will be assigned to the expansion of the posture and posture curled up under the two conditions,subjects were asked to judge the power of words,explore the different positions of power subjects to determine whether there are differences between the words in response,the expansion in the posture of the test under the condition of power word reaction time is faster,crouching posture the conditions were tested on the weak power word reaction time is faster;in experiment two,the power of vocabulary were presented in the upper and lower screen subjects were asked to estimate the spatial position,explore whether the different influence on power vocabulary judgment,the result shows that when the power words were tested on the power word reaction time faster appear at the top of the screen,when the power words appear at the bottom of the screen when the subjects of weak power word reaction time faster;experiment three,the experiment combined with the experimental phase,explore the different postures by It is found that there is a significant interaction between position and part of speech in the judgment of power words appearing in different positions.
