A Report On The C-E Translation Of Non-Material Cultural Heritage Protection And Hunan Huaguxi (Excerpts)

From the ancient Silk Road to the Belt and Road Initiative,the development of society has promoted the friendly exchanges among the ethnic groups and provided more opportunities for people to discover new areas and go out.President Xi Jinping said,"Cultural confidence comes from excellent traditional culture,and to fulfill cultural confidence,it is important for Chinese culture to go global and to let more people know and understand China,thus providing internal power for the Belt and Road construction." Chinese opera culture,as an important part of intangible cultural heritages in China,is in itself worthy of spreading overseas.This thesis is based on the translation of Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection and Hunan Huaguxi(Excerpt).On the premise of completing the translation practice,it discusses the translation methods and application of this kind of texts by analyzing its text content,language features,and styles.Intangible Cultural Protection and Hunan Huaguxi(Exerpt)is a kind of informative and cultural text material.There are some difficulties in this translation practice,especially the C-E translation of huaguxi characteristic vocabulary,four-character Chinese words,Chinese historical and geographic words,long and difficult sentences and paratactic sentences.Based on the concrete practice,it proves that the foreinization method has a significant guiding effect on such translation report.This translation report is basically under the guidance of foreignizing translation theory,through a large number of case studies,this report make analysis and summarize the translation strategies can be adopted in this type of text.Specifically,in terms of characteristic vocabulary,literal translation,transliteration with literal translation and transliteration with annotations are mainly used;in terms of four-character Chinese words,literal translation with annotations,literal translation,interpretation are mainly adopted;Chinese poetry is mainly dealt with using literal translation and phonic translation with annotations;In dealing with long and difficult sentences and paratactic sentences the methods of reorganization,amplification,syntactic linearity and synthesization are adopted.The report shows that the translation of texts with local characteristics requires the translator not only to be acquainted with its cultural connotations,but also to find the appropriate theory to guide translation and to use proper translation skills and means,so as to achieve the aims of language output and making the target language more in line with the need of cultural communication.
