Research On The Middle And Lower Merchants' Families In Shanxi At The Late Qing Dynasty And The Early Republic

In the changing period of the change of history,the middle and lower merchants' families in shanxi at the late Qing Dynasty and the Early Republic are all over the country and have a wide range of business.Their business activities,characters' fate,family education,spiritual world,marriage life and so on,often represent the general characteristics of a group because of their general attributes as a common person,and can fully display the vicissitudes of the times.In this paper,I take a number of the middle and lower merchants' letter as the research foundation.Through the micro perspective,mainly focus on the aspects of business activities,family education,family tradition,marriage and other investigation,in order to open up a new visual angle of shanxi.The first part is the main text research,combing the Shanxi businessman and merchant family of academic history and folk literature value,Shanxi letter letter research etc.Next,I take the "Wu's home letter" and "Wang Futang's home letter" as the case to analyze the background,business,family structure and their social class in the letters.The third part to the fifth part through the analysis of a specific research on family education exchanges,it reflects the principle of concept,concept of marriage,family and family status of women,the family division of labor,to explore the letter from the micro level and a side reflected in lower Shanxi businessmen family status.The last part through the summary of the full text to form the conclusion of the study,and to analyze and discuss the Contemporary Enlightenment conveyed to us by the family culture of the middle and lower middle merchant of Shanxi.The home letters carry so much information of history,family and industry.It is rich in historical data,especially for middle and lower merchants in Shanxi.Through the paper,we can explore the real life situations about family education,business concept,family spirit,and marriage of the middle and lower merchants' in shanxi at the late Qing Dynasty and the Early Republic of China.
