The Contrastive Study Of Chinese And English Euphemism And Teaching Chinese As A Second Language

Euphemism is an important social and culture phenomenon and reflects the speaker's ability of communication.The first part of this paper summarizes the study history of Chinese euphemism and English euphemism and some related subjects.The second part gives the definition?origination and common classification of euphemism and discusses the basic properties of euphemism.The third part elaborates the differences between Chinese euphemism and English euphemism in the terms of taboos and formation,then reveals the causes of these differences.According to this part,you can acquire a clear understanding of the differences of these two languages and two cultures.The last part,based on a survey on HSK corpus,combines the Euphemism and the subject of teaching Chinese as a second language,trying to puts forward some conductive suggestions about teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
