In the context of contemporary Chinese art,the study of the relationship between tradition and modernity has become the focus of attention. However, for a long period of time,Chinese contemporary art can only be judged by its value within the framework and discourse system of the West.As a result, even if it is done better,it can only be sent under a hedge and it does not have its own right to speak. Therefore, constructing the discourse system of contemporary Chinese art is an urgent matter for the development of contemporary art.The construction of a discourse system needs to emphasize two prerequisites: first, relying on traditional cultural resources in which traditional culture is one of our biggest capitals. The second premise is that systematic construction must be based on cross-cultural dialogues and exchanges. Therefore, this thesis hopes to find direction by studying the influence of Minnan culture on contemporary art creation. This article selects three Yong artists, such as Huang Yongzheng,Cai Guoqiang, and Qiu Zhijie, who enjoy a high reputation in the creation of contemporary art. They also study and analyze the cultural conformity of the southern Fujianese in their works, which focuses on their works. The culture of Minnan in the middle reaches the contemporary transformation, source of creation, and the influence of Minnan culture on artist creation. At the same time,in combination with my graduation creation, the thesis uses the South Fujian puppet symbol as the main object of expression, and draws lessons from the personal style and artistic characteristics of the three Fujian artists to apply them to artistic creation.
